The Sistine Madonna

This image depicts "The Sistine Madonna" (Madonna di San Sisto) by the Italian artist Raphael. Painted around 1512–1514, this oil painting is a prime example of High Renaissance art. The painting features the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child, flanked by Saint Sixtus and Saint Barbara. Below them are two cherubic angels, adding to the divine atmosphere of the scene.
