The sliding of the window in the Hall of the Tapestries

The grotesque frescoes of the spikes and the celetti of the windows date back to the time of Pope Paul V and have been attributed to the same Annibale Durante who created those in the Great Hall of the Cuirassiers. In each room the pontiff's motto is replicated, eius qui misit (of the one who sent), symbolized by the mirror that reflects the light of the sun on the earth represented by landscape backgrounds, with which the pope alludes to his mission to spread the light of divine grace. At the center of the celetti stands the coat of arms of Pius VII who replaced the Borghese insignia with his own.
