The South Garden at Balmoral

In 1876 the South garden at Balmoral Castle was known as the 'Outside Flower Garden'. At this time, the castle was a favourite residence of Queen Victoria who came here for up to four months in the summer, particularly when she was mourning the death of her husband, Prince Albert, after 1861.
