The Strenght of Beauty Is Energy for Life. Beauty is closely connected to the theme of our relationship with the land
and the local environment (the wise farmer “paints” the land with his
crops, to quote Sagrantino-producer Marco Caprai).
It would be impossible to portray Italy’s beauty in full, so only three
“worlds” of national beauty have been selected: the country’s natural
landscapes, the façades of historical buildings, and artistic interiors.
This is a way to move beyond the most familiar and popular
representations of beauty.
The videos have a consistent horizon line, level with the eyes of the
average visitor. The message is clear: you are at the centre of all this.
We find a reference to The Ideal City, the painting of uncertain attribution
which illustrates – among other things – an “ideal perspective”.
“Perspective”: a term which describes the capacity to gaze beyond,
to trace lines connecting present and future.
The experience becomes increasingly immersive, not least as the
space grows more confined, and architectures make their appearance,
in an almost two-dimensional form, to increase the visitor’s feeling of
“inclusion”.
Last but not least, the kaleidoscopes.
Large details from the interiors of some of Italy’s most distinctive buildings,
broken down into strange kaleidoscopes (from the Greek
“to see beautiful forms”).
