Weston Urban District Council built an open-air swimming pool on the resort's seafront in 1937. It was designed by the office of the borough engineer, Harold Brown. The two-storey entrance is flanked by single-storey changing rooms and roof terraces. Pool facilities included a multi-stage diving platform and slides. In its opening year, the pool attracted 109,000 bathers and 156,000 spectators.
