The Three Kings visit the Holy Family

Churches Conservation Trust

Churches Conservation Trust
London, United Kingdom

This detailed scene shows the three Kings, also known as Wise Men or the Magi, visiting Mary and baby Jesus with gifts each in containers made of precious metals. A crown, to symbolise Jesus as King lies on the floor in front of the holy family, with Joseph (??) in animated conversation stood behind. It is a happy scene, with expressions of joy and awe on the figures' faces. This hand-painted panel of glass is just (XxYcm/inches), and the quality of craftsmanship is evident in the luxurious damask fabrics flowing and folding around tiny hands and detailed faces.
