The scene is inspired by novella 10 of day VII of The" Decameron " by Giovanni Boccaccio (Tingoccio appears to Meuccio). While ignoring the artistic training of this Yugoslav Painter, the references that are derived from these two works of the certaldese collection seem to indicate a sensitive culture along with the European avant-garde (Cubism) and Italian art of the thirties (in particular, close to Campigli).
