Based on a detail of 'The Translation of Saint Rita of Cascia', 1630 by Nicholas Poussin, DPG263 in Dulwich Picture Gallery. 'Saint Rita I felt was such a destroyed soul that I want to give her a bit of peace in her life. The detail, which is also the talking point of the painting - the woman flying on the cloud, really captivated me. It is vibrant and has got an amazing light.' RUN.
