The Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in Naumburg is considered one of the most important cultural monuments of the High Middle Ages in Germany. The late Romanesque-early Gothic cathedral is world-famous for the works of the so-called Naumburg Master. In particular, the twelve donor sculptures - most notably that of Margravine Uta of Naumburg - exemplify the outstanding creation of German sculpture. The cathedral has been a registered UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2018.
