In 2010, the careful scraping away of paint in one section of The Pewter Corridor revealed the original polychrome decoration. This section was then used as a template to restore the rest of the corridor to its vibrant former glory. One of the domed sections revealed has been left unrestored and instead conserved with its original historic paintwork.
