The third cloister, known as Cloister of St. Benedict, leads to the refectory. It is the largest cloister and it dates back to 1508-1512. The portico has thirty columns and between each of them there is a rod with the figure of a saint; in total the rods are 26. A great part of the work by Giovanni Battista Merano and Tommaso Aldovrandini (from 1682 to 1687) has been deleted by the bad weather.
