Zahariy Zograph (1810–1853). He was one of the most prominent artists of the National Revival period and the first typical representative of secular art in the 19th century. He was the son of the painter Hristo Dimitrov, although he studied painting with his brother Dimitar Zograph. His icons and frescoes are found in the churches in Plovdiv (1834–40), Zlatograd (1834), Asenovgrad (1838–41), Koprivshtitsa (1838), Zlatograd (1834), and in Bachkovo Monastery (1840) , the Monastery of the Transfiguration of God (1849, 1851), Rila Monastery (1844–45), Troyan Monastery (1847–48), the Great Lavra on Mount Athos (1851–52), and Karyes, Mount Athos (1853). inv.
