The Song of Songs of Solomon is a series from the early 1970s consisting of 12 etchings that demonstrate DalĄ's interest in religious themes and stories of the Old Testament. In this etching, DalĄ focuses on the verse "The voice of my beloved! behold! he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills" (Song of Solomon 2:8, King James Version). Creating a figurative interpretation of this text, DalĄ uses circular and radiating lines to convey a sense of energy and holiness as the central Christ figure appears above a white mountain.
