The Way I See It

This piece of music was inspired by the idea of the macro and the micro - how sometimes you can feel very small but at other times feel significant. During this pandemic, I know I and many other people have felt very tiny and helpless against this virus; it's an invisible enemy, seemingly just waiting to attack! But it has come to my attention that this is not to be fought alone and that there are and have been moments of great solidarity...the Thursday 5pm claps for the NHS, the black lives matter movement, the climate change movement etc... where people have come together for the better!

My piece is aimed to calm those who are afraid, to encourage people to take some distance and see the bigger picture (to see how beautiful this Earth is despite it's imperfections closeup), to show that there is a better future, painted at our will and that each one of us is important individually (but united, an unbreakable force.) I hope you enjoy my piece!

This piece was made as part of ENO's Lockdown Aria challenge. Children and young people across the country made work inspired by the concept of an Aria "a single character sharing their inner emotional world and thoughts with an audience."

The work was created as part of Arts Council England's The Way I See It project which captures the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the lives of children and young people, articulated in their own voices, through their own creativity.
