This painting depicts a very special occasion. After the 1965 Alexandria Biennale for Mediterranean Countries, Seif Wanly (1906–1979) invited his friends over to dinner and announced his marriage to fellow painter Ehsan Mokhtar. Wanly stands in the centre, holding a bottle, surrounded by friends including Badr el-Din Abu Ghazi, Kamel Mustafa, Gamal el-Segini, Salah taher, Hamed Ewais, Abdullah Gohar, Kamal el- Mallakh and Youssef Kamel Mostafa. Ehsan Mokhtar stands at the edge of the painting, holding a glass.
