Composition in yellow tones, gray, blue, ochre, orange, green, earthy, violet, black and white. Smooth and thick texture and wear spatula. Composition representing the Wedding at Cana, seeing up group of ten people, all with defined facial features, of which nine are standing side by side, occupying almost the entire support height and a squatting taking ahead ten pitchers. To the left of center, are seen Our Lady, St. Joseph and Jesus, all facing and halo around his head; both Our Lady and Jesus have represented in blue-green skin tone, and that Jesus is much more dark. To the left of Our Lady there is a woman in profile to the left and face forward with clasped hands. Ahead of Our Lady and St. Joseph, sees man crouched on the right knee, profile to the right and looking to the direction of Jesus as he is showing that Jesus ten pitchers full of wine. To the right of the composition, are seen two masters, also from the front, as if they were talking to each other, their arms are bent and the top of which the on the left has open hands upon the right and on the right standing with crossed arms over his chest and his hands closed. More to the right, three figures: a boy with sheep around the neck and two men, one of whom holds a long staff, the other is a little further back and has her head resting on his on the left shoulder as if he were talking to that. All figures wear long robes in dark tones with geometrism suggesting stamping, except for the boy with sheep standing wearing short tunic. All are bare except for Jesus and also the boy with sheep wear sandals. The background is in light yellow tone that contrasts with the group of people wearing dark clothes. Still on the bottom, on the left, range in vertical and on the right, five suggesting geometrical shadows.

  • Function: Work executed to decorate the dining room in the residence of San Tiago Dantas, Rio de Janeiro, RJ. Work designed by architect Carlos Leão. The artist began the panel in 1956 before traveling to Israel and completed it upon his return, altering the composition of the pitchers.
