"The Wedding" by Wyspiański, director and stage designer: Jerzy Grzegorzewski, costumes: Barbara Hanicka; from the left: Ewa Konstancja Bułhak (The Bride), Zbigniew Zamachowski (The Poet), Wojciech Malajkat (The Groom). On the eve of the third millennium and on the centenary of the play’s creation, Jerzy Grzegorzewski, for the third time in his career, directed Wyspiański’s play. Almost the whole team of the National Theatre appeared on stage. The performance was a bitter commentary on the spiritual situation of Poles in the aftermath of the fall of communism.
