The Witness Tree 300 Year Old White Oak

This white oak tree, one of the oldest in the Commonwealth of Virginia, is estimated to be over 300 years old. Situated adjacent to the Monroe home archaeological site, this tree would have provided shade for the Monroe family during their residency at Highland.
