Postcard with photograph of the Woman's Press shop. The Women's Social and Political Union opened this shop at 156 Charing Cross Road in May 1910. The rapid growth in sales of suffragette literature and merchandise necesitated this central London location for the new business. Handwitten on the back is 'Mrs May' and 'Miss Marsden', presumably referring to the two women standing outside the shop. Dora Marsden was a WSPU organiser.
