Georgian Theatre Royal

Georgian Theatre Royal
Richmond, United Kingdom

It is believed that this is the oldest surviving painted scenery in the UK. The scenery came from the firm of George Rivers Higgins in Oxford. Higgins created stage sets to order and also kept a stock of scenery for hire. The Woodland Scenery has recently been conserved and is on display in the Georgian Theatre Royal Museum.
