The World is a Mirror of My Freedom was organized in response to the increasingly visible, lawful violence against Black bodies in the United States. The exhibition explores themes of Black masculinity, social movement and mobility, revolution, and resistance, drifting across time from the 1700s to the future and inviting reflection on how the past has conditioned the present. The World is a Mirror of My Freedom features works by Marcus Kiser + Jason Woodberry, Shaun Leonardo, Dread Scott, and Charles E. Williams and was exhibited at McColl Center from January 27 to March 25, 2017.
