The X 37385 of the Nilgiri Mountain Railway

The X 37385, a 48.9 ton 0-8-2 meter gauge locomotive was imported from Winterthur Swiss Loco Co. in 1921.

This locomotive was engaged in the South Indian Railway (later Southern railway) and worked all the traffic on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway's rack and pinion system, coping in fine style with the 1 in 12.5 gradient.
