Sasha Sokolov likes complicated music, he perceives it as an information stream. For him, his interest in music and painting is a life preserver in a secluded world of pyjamas and barred windows of the care home. Sasha’s creative language balances on the brisk between primitive art and caricature, which makes them more expressive. Sometimes his artworks cause some kind of fear or repulsion. Emotions of people and imaginary characters, painted by Sasha, are controversial: they seem to be friendly, but their smiles have a tinge of madness. In his works the artist often cites British illustrator and caricaturist Ralph Steadman.
