Plan of proposed alterations to the Theatre at Alexandra Palace to create a third television studio after the successful launch of the service in 1936. The innovative layout would have allowed multiple sets to be created on one sound stage, a problem with the previous two studios, and more in line with sit-coms filmed in front of live audiences. The plans were abandoned following the outbreak of war in 1939. Post-war new facilities were located to continue to grow the service, with Lime Grove studios, then Television Centre.
