Colour postcard showing the Theatre Royal, Newcastle upon Tyne. The neo-classical facade dates from 1837. It features a portico with giant Corinthian columns which covers the full height of the building. The current auditorium, however, dates from 1901, as it was reconstructed following a fire in 1899.
