Thebes: A Global Civil War

Pantelis Flatsousis presented Thebes: A Global Civil War, a documentary-inspired performance exploring the lingering wounds of civil conflict through the lens of Aeschylus’ Seven Against Thebes. Four actors from Bosnia, Greece, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Lebanon shared personal narratives of war, blending historical fact with theatrical storytelling. Staged at the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus, the production examined memory, identity, and humanity’s enduring entanglement with violence, turning ancient myth into a powerful reflection on modern global struggles.
