Lau Ching-ping studied design and photography in the Swire School of Design of Hong Kong Polytechnic. He was the co-editor of NuNaHeDuo and he's been a part-time lecturer of School of Journalism and Communication, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. This is how Lau Ching-ping describes his Thin as Air series: "As I reviewed my photographs again and again, I realized that what occupies most of the scenes I photograph is actually air. So I have settled on it as theme. In eyeing for pictorial composition, I saw the sense of distance in the air. Or perhaps, since air is invisible to the naked eye, getting the right focus becomes the easiest thing to do. What I want to express through the pictures is that I breathe the same breath as the rest of the world.
