The third polychrome is contemporary to archbishop Maximiliano de Austria’s reforms during 1606 and 1607. To this layer, for example, correspond the pigments that we see on the prophets and apostles from the columns of the central arch. In the event of possible damages, and for the conservation of the Portico of the Glory, preventive regulations have been taken. On the one hand, constant management of humidity and temperature conditions is necessary, as well as the control and limitation of people who can access the space.
