"Hakuu" refers to rain showers in summer. There is clear weather around the top of the mountain, but a single bolt of lightning runs along the base of the mountain, which features darkly layered printing. As indicated in the title, the rain shower is likely pouring incessantly onto the ground. This has essentially the same composition as "Aka Fuji," but the clouds lingering around the mountain ridges, appearing like auspicious clouds, guide the viewer's line of vision downward, and the boundless jet-black of the base of the mountain allows one to sense the dynamism of nature.
