This new product has such an unusual design that it apparently gets startling reactions. Despite its weird appearance, the product had proved extremely useful for entertaining children. Designed and constructed during off duty hours by an entire section of the General Electric Company's Distribution Transformer Department at Pittsfield Mass., the product, catalogued as a friendly dragon, was unveiled in Pittsfield during a recent holiday parade. Considered a major engineering feat, the dragon is 150 feet long and 14 feet high, and weighs nearly seven tons. It is mounted on a fork truck and nine tow cars. Features of the product include movable legs, flapping wings, snorting nostrils, and beaming red headlights. About 400 factory, office, engineering and top management employees contributed their personal time and skills for the community project. The dragon was made with the best obtainable scrap material.
