Tesla was employed by Edison's companies in Paris and Strasbourg. Upon his arrival in the USA, he got a job at Edison Machine Works in New York, where he worked until the end of 1884. The two scientists later became opponents in the "War of Currents", the conflict for primacy between the two conflicted concepts - Tesla's alternate and Edison's direct currents.
