These are three-belled gyōyō (apricot-leaf-shaped decorations). Of the three gyōyō shown in the picture, two were cast from the same mold. All of the bells are the same size with a diameter of 4.3 cm. The bells are not perfect spheres, but oblate, meaning they appear as slightly flattened balls when looking at them from the side. The decorative circles on the surface appear in patterns of smaller circles surrounding a bigger circle. These gyōyō were hung on the backs of horses.
