KAP has launched with a three-year plan spanning from 2011 to 2013. At the first step in 2011, art professionals and critics selected 21 artists, and curators from 13 private art museums organized their virtual solo exhibitions. KAP would love to introduce a diverse spectrum of Korean contemporary art to the global audience. Through these efforts, KAP will play a significant role in the promotion and development of Korean contemporary art. Also, the KAP will become a useful platform, which will serve as a stepping-stone to create cultural exchange and global networks with diverse art people. Please visit www.koreanartistproject.com
  • Critic's Note: In his video, photograph and installation works, Jung has conveyed the memories, cognitive shock and hope for the future arising at the boundary between reality and imagination, the contrast between the ideal and the real. Yeondoo Jung has primarily produced photographic and video works in which fantasy coexists with the real world, the ideal is contrasted with reality, and different cultures are melted into a whole. Jung has additionally documented the conceptualization and production process of his art. At work, he invariably engrosses himself in a project from a broad perspective. When selecting locations or objects for his work, Jung does not apply any constraints regarding age, gender, nationality, cultural background, etc.; instead he works with diverse models and sites. In his video, photograph and installation works, Jung has conveyed the memories, cognitive shock and hope for the future arising at the boundary between reality and imagination, the contrast between the ideal and the real. In creating his works, the artist has carried out the process of seeking, producing, experiencing, and photographing as diligently as possible and strived to take every step on his own. Rather than adopting the simpler methods offered by today’s digital environment, Yeondoo Jung remains faithful to his personal techniques: adding proprietary touches to every element of his story to allow an intense and intimate communication with his audience.
