The women are all dressed in the fashionable kebayas with tapered ends. The family matriarch pairs a subdued, loose-fitting kebaya with a damask sarong. The two women beside her wear fitted versions bordered with machine-made lace, and boldly patterned or coloured batik sarongs. The men, typically, are in Western suits and ties.
