Three-phase switch

This switch can simultaneously connect and disconnect three power wires (phases) when the wheel is turned. The reservoir at the bottom is filled with oil and raised so the switch contacts are submerged. This prevents spark discharge from the switch. At the top of the unit there are eight white porcelain insulators in pairs of two, one pair per phase. This switch is rated for 10 kilovolts.
