Tibetan Group

Chen Danqing, born in 1953 in Shanghai, now lives and works in Beijing. Chen graduated from the Department of Oil Painting of China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1980, after which he stayed on to teach. In the same year, his graduation project the Tibetan Serie(xizangzuhua), became one of his signature works.ln 1982, he m oved to New York as a freelance artist. In 2000, Chen returned to Tslnghua University, working as a professor and Ph.D. supervisor while he was also in charge of the the "Chen Danqlng Studio." He resigned from his position at Tsinghua at the end of 2004.
