Guanghan, China

The shoulders of this Zun are decorated with three dragon heads in high relief. The body is decorated with three groups of tigers and humans. The bodies of the tigers extend to both sides and there is a human under each tiger mouth. This is an example of the "tiger and human" motif popular on Shang period bronzeware in various regions. This motif may depict shamans wearing the skins of tigers.
