During the Estado Novo (between 1933 and 1974), the construction ofrailway lines gained a new impetus, with tiles being widely used in architecture. This example is from the now closed Urrós Railway Station, on the Sabor Line. At all stations on this section, this type of tiled panel was installed, referring to the "State Railways". It will have been placed during construction of the section between Mogadouro and Miranda-Duas Igrejas, inaugurated on May 22, 1938. Of figurative representation, it reproduces the Manueline armillary sphere and Portuguese
Escudo.
