Timalle is a life size sculpture depicting a shackled human body. It was made of paper Reparation forms covered in red polyester resin which were taped together and shackled with iron stripes from old rum barrels. The metal pieces come from the ruins of the biggest Guadeloupian sugar can factory, place of today’s Memorial ACTe. Some Reparation forms used to enter the flesh of the sculpture are blank some had been filled in by descendants of enslaved individuals, members of African communities, and anyone involved in the process.
