Tingoccio Mini and Meuccio from Tura

Palazzo Pretorio e Casa Boccaccio

Palazzo Pretorio e Casa Boccaccio
Certaldo, Italy

It represents the episode of the two Sienese friends who love the same woman and who, not suffering from jealousy, exchange it with each other until one of the two dies and leaves the woman to the other (novella 10, giornata VII, 'Decameron' by Giovanni Boccaccio). The drawing of Levi, similar to the other two executed with the same technique (sheet n. 09/00126621 and 09/00126623), is executed with the same dry and dry handwriting, in the line of expressionist trends most congenial to the painter.
