Ray Martín Abeyta (born 1956 Española, New Mexico; died 2014 Brooklyn, New York) created masterfully elaborate oil paintings in a Spanish Baroque style infused with contemporary subject matter. Abeyta developed this painting to express his frustration over the historically limited expressive and creative opportunities available to women, regardless of their cultural background. This piece is oil on linen and was a gift of Ray A. Graham III and the artist.
