It is common to relate the work of Maurício Nogueira Lima to a concrete legacy, since the artist was part of Grupo Ruptura in the 1950s and, throughout his life, he was interested in investigating forms and colors through geometrized creations. The "TIP", made in 1968, goes against this idea: figurative and influenced by a "pop" visuality, the picture aligns with a type of visuality present in part of the works of artists such as Rubens Gerchman, Antonio Dias, Marcello Nitsche and Raymundo Collares produced in the same decade.
