Tiraz Garment

Two fragments of dark blue wool ground fabric with two decorative in-woven bands, the lower band is plain and of a rusty red colour measuring 2.9 cm in height. The other band is composed of three registers, the central comprising a sequence of confronted quadrupeds in cream, mustard and blue on a rusty red ground with stylised trees in cream, mustard and blue in between, measuring 3.5 cm in height. The two outer registers comprising repetitive stylised Kufic script in cream on a rusty red ground measuring 1.3 cm in height.
