Silk embroidered postcard from Private Ernest Gordon Warner, 52nd Infantry Battalion, in France, to his sister Adeline Mary Warner 'Ada' in Springsure, Queensland. Silk postcards reached their peak of popularity and production during the First World War. Mostly hand embroidered by French women at home, the designs were sent to factories for cutting and mounting on card.
