The innovative and experimental spirit of this canvas was manifested in full force. The composition itself is very laconic : almost empty background, on which, in the foreground is placed the figure of a Kazakh woman who came to the train to sell Mare's milk (Mare's milk). The color is soft, the colors are muted, as if illuminated by the sun. Face saleswoman koumiss is not registered, it is not important to the author. His slogan “Express, but not to portray!” explains this approach to the interpretation of the scene captured by him on the railway station.
