The TU1 Burlington toaster has a vertically positioned spiral element in the middle. This toasts the inner face of the bread slices. When the side cover is hinged downward and then closed again, the bread is automatically turned over without the need to touch it. Now the other side can be toasted.
Although the appliance is an English product from the 1940s, the design and decorations hark back to the Art Deco style of the 1920s.
