Toma

Valerije Michieli (1922 – 1981) was trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb but did further studies in Italy and France. His individual form of Expressionism expressed the human drama, particularly in subjects from World War II; his expression was influenced by Giacometti’s elongated forms and the inheritance of Gothic.
