Tongyeongban, or small dining table, is a traditional low dining table produced in the Tongyeong region, South Gyeongsang Province. It is made by carving the tabletop and edges from one piece of wood, four corners of the tabletop cut into a round, petal shape, and four legs inserted into the bottom of the tabletop. Two lines are engraved along the edges, and the front is adorned with butterflies and leaves, while the sides are decorated with a grass leaf motif, underneath which there are an upwardly curved cross bar and bamboo-shaped table pillars. A bamboo-shaped wooden strip is attached to each leg in the shape of a tiger’s leg, and a pair of wooden bars are connecting each pair of table legs on the bottom, which function as the foot of the table. The entire body of the table is lacquered.
