Jeogori is a top worn by men and women of all ages since the Three Kingdoms period. It consists of gil (panel), collar, sleeves, outer collar, dongjeong (thin white collar strip), and goreum (breast tie). It was recorded as jeogori or unlined summer jacket. Jeogori in the Joseon Dynasty was waist-length, with a wide mokpan collar until the 17th century that was later altered to a thin, narrow collar and to a round, half-oval one. Other elements except for the collar have barely changed.
