Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza

Portrait of Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza (Chachapoyas, 1750-Lima, 1825). Doctor of Theology from the University of San Marcos. He was professor of Philosophy and Theology at the Real Convictorio de San Carlos where he was rector (1785-1817). He was also rector of the University of San Marcos (1824-1825). He was a member of the Sociedad Amantes del País and considered an ideological precursor of the independence of Peru.
